  • Community OUtreach Program/Rural Transportation Worker

    • JCEO’s Community Outreach Program has a vacancy for a Community Outreach Program/Rural Transportation Worker at 54 Margaret Street, Plattsburgh.  This position is full-time and eligible for benefits.

    • The individual will report to Sally Soucia, Community Outreach Director, and to Julie Stalker, Senior Outreach Director, and be responsible for coordinating and delivering direct services, including information, referral, and advocacy to low income residents and supporting projects for community improvement. In addition, the person will coordinate medical transportation for consumers over 60 years of age in the City of Plattsburgh and towns not serviced by a Community Outreach Center. Other duties include assisting consumers with applications for designated programs, submitting all reports as requested, and conducting outreach designed to inform all service area residents of the resources available.

    • Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED and six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 
  • MEDICAID TRANSPORTATION WORKER

    • JCEO’s Community Outreach Program has a vacancy for a Medicaid Transportation Worker for the Clinton County region.  This position is full-time and eligible for benefits.

      The individual will report to Lisa Goodrow, Community Outreach Associate Director, and be responsible for coordinating and arranging medical transportation for Medicaid eligible individuals within Clinton County as per Medicaid Transportation policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, checking Medical Answering Systems (MAS), record keeping, and scheduling volunteer drivers for Medicaid eligible trips.

    • Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED and six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 
  • Teacher  – Clinton County Head Start

    • Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth needed for Kindergarten in a Head Start Center.

    • Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA ECE preferred, A.A. in ECE, or an A.A. equivalent (24 credits in Early Childhood/Child Development,), 1 yr preschool teaching exp., and 1 yr. supervision.

 
  • Center Support Assistant – Clinton County Head Start

    • Under the supervision of the Education Services Manager carries out assigned duties at specific sites.  Supports center staff in the positions of assistant teacher, cook, bus driver, bus aide or any other capacity as assigned by supervisor. 

    • Minimum Qualifications: Child Development Associate credential, or be willing to be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years, or have an Associates or Baccalaureate Degree (in any area) or be in a program leading to such a degree), and one year of experience working with preschool children.

 
  • Teacher Assistant  – Clinton County Head Start

    • Performs a variety of instructional tasks in the classroom to assist in the day to day operations of the assigned Head Start Center.

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and a Child Development Associate credential, or be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years, or have an Associates or Baccalaureate Degree (in any area) or be in a program leading to such a degree, and one year of experience working with preschool children. 

 
  • Family Worker  – Franklin County Head Start

    • Works under the supervision of the Family and Community Services Coordinator; makes home visits and assists clients and families by providing resources and making referrals; assists or locates assistance in crisis; keeps and maintains confidentiality of records on individual cases; serves as a family advocate and liaison between family/client and community services; implements eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance services; may provide transportation, child care and other social services; Provides family support, and  presents opportunities for self-reliance.

    • Minimum Qualifications: Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field within eighteen months of hire, or equivalent coursework (12 credit hours in the above-mentioned fields) as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Experience in the field preferred.

  • Cook – Clinton County Head Start

    • Responsibilities include preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in the center according to the standardized recipes provided by the PDM Coordinator and approved by a Registered Dietitian.  

    • This individual will ensure that high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times in the kitchen through cleaning and sanitizing daily, requesting requisitions, purchasing food and program supplies and developing nutritional activities in the classroom. 

    • Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months of related experience and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience working in a pre-school setting is preferred.

 
  • Substitutes – Head Start

    • Replaces regular teacher, assistant teacher, or acts as temporary classroom aide and follows the prepared curriculum and lesson plans.

    • Monday through Friday, as needed, for Head Start Centers in Clinton and Franklin County. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED and six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 
  • Health Services Specialist – Franklin County Head Start

    • Is responsible for managing a preventative health, dental, and nutrition program for individual children and families. May also provide training in Medication administration, CPR, and First Aide.

    • Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program with experience and training in health education. Experience in community nutrition services helpful.

 
  • Center Support Teacher – Franklin County Head Start

    • Under the supervision of the Education Services Manager carries our assigned duties at specified sites.  Supports center staff on a regular basis. Is able to assume the role of teacher in Head Start Centers when lead teacher is absent.

    • A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or in any field and course work equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool age children, or an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with one year experience teaching preschool aged children and, one year of supervision (required by all of the above) or an AA degree with 24 credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a child-related area; and one year of child daycare teaching experience; and one year of experience supervising staff.

 
  • Family and Community services Coordinator – Franklin County Head Start

    • The Family and Community Services Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program and be responsible for facilitating continuity for individual children and families by providing support and opportunities that build on developmental experiences, family strengths, and establishing support systems. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating with necessary community agencies involved with a family to ensure their success and providing structured ongoing training for parents and staff.

    • Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor Degree in a human service related field with one year of supervisory experience or an Associates in human service related field with two years of related experience and supervisory experience.

 
  • Management Services Assistant - Clinton County Head Start

    • The MSA will report to the Program Design and Management (PDM) Coordinator and will support the Management team by performing data collection and entry, and generating reports. The MSA will be responsible for assisting the Coordinators with developing policies and procedures that pertain to their service area, working on special projects assigned by the service area managers, and ensuring children’s files and health profiles are complete.

    • Minimum qualifications: GED or High School Diploma with a plan to enroll in higher education. One year of experience in Early Childhood Education.  Certified in CPR and First AID also required.
