October at JCEO

Cards & Collectibles

Saturday, October 15th we held our second Cards & Collectibles event of the year, hosted by the Champlain Centre and Plattsburgh Cards & Collectibles. Thank you to all of the amazing vendors who participated and donated items for the raffle. We raised $1,200 for the Backpack Program, which will cover five local, food-insecure elementary school students for this school year.

Winter is coming.

This winter is going to be an especially hard one for households with limited income. The rising cost of fuel, food, and shelter is already impacting those with low or fixed incomes - many of these households being elderly or those with young children. As the influx of funding from COVID dwindles, we are seeing need continue to rise without the funding to cover it.
We are grateful to exist in a community that cares as much as you do. We have already seen immense participation and donations on behalf of local individuals and businesses.

THANK YOU for your support!

If you are looking for other ways to support us, you can donate online at jceo.org/Donate.
Donations are used to provide support in many ways, from purchase of winter clothing for children from low-income households to payments for fuel and car repairs.

Champlain Port donated more than 14,000 lbs of shelf-stable food to our pantries. THANK YOU!

On 10/15, Noon Kiwanis hosted a "Stuff the Strand" event at the Strand Theatre. More than 3,000lbs of food, formula, and diapers were donated. THANK YOU!

For the month of October, $1 from the purchase of every Fight Hunger bag purchased at the Plattsburgh Hannaford will benefit JCEO's Food Services.

Make a stop for some early Christmas shopping at Lenny's Shoe & Apparel. Donate $10 and receive a reusable tote and a 25% discount on 10/22/22!
