Day Care Start-Up Funds
JCEO understands the need for affordable day care.  The Day Care Program has funding available to help anyone interested in establishing a Day Care program in their home. JCEO's Day Care Program has a toy-lending library available to providers and funds for existing providers and informal providers. Does your Day Care Center need to purchase health and safety related items for your program? JCEO can assist with this.   For those becoming licensed providers, there are funds available to help pay for medical exams required in the registration process. 

Child Care Resource & Referral
JCEO’s Day Care program offers a referral service for parents and guardians in search of licensed day care providers. We have an extensive database that includes providers' names, locations and phone numbers.

JCEO provides training workshops for Day Care providers which include topics such as early childhood development, health and safety, nutrition, educational activities, and managing Day Care programs.

JCEO recruits those interested in becoming day care providers. We offer a Day Care orientation meeting at least once a month where we go through the application process with individuals who are pursuing a career in child care.

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
Providers who participate in this program are eligible to receive partial reimbursement for meals served to children in their care. JCEO monitors the food that is being served, ensures all meals and snacks are healthy, nutritious and meet the USDA (US Department of Agriculture) requirements and standards.

JCEO also provides nutrition training at least once per year -- a requirement for providers who participate in CACFP.

Below are the reimbursement rates that have been established for July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2007:

Tier I Rates

• Breakfast: $1.06
• Lunch/Dinner: $1.97
• Snacks: $.58

Tier II Rates

• Breakfast: $.39
• Lunch/Dinner: $1.19
• Snacks: $.16

Reimbursement rates vary depending on location.

Christina Danussi

Christina Danussi is the Day Care Director at JCEO.
